MALCHIN is published to raise awareness of Mongolian rangelands and pastoralists in celebration of the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists in 2026. With 172 pages, 62 photographs (both color and black and white), 10 illustrations, 2 maps, and about 14,00 words of text it provides an overview of Mongolian grazing lands and herders (nomads/pastoralists). It is organized into nine chapters: Preface, Introduction, Rangelands, Nomadic Heritage, Herders, Livestock, Horses, Challenges, and Saving the Steppe.
