Mountains have the capacity to support various living beings including humans. Waterfalls and their clear waters can be therapeutic. Two thirds of the land in Japan are covered by mountains and forests which include numerous beautiful waterfalls.
This photobook focuses on these mountains and waterfalls. The 176 pages of photos have been collected over 15 years. They represent the diverse mountains and waterfalls throughout Japan, covering all four seasons. They encompass national parks and quasi-national parks; mountains and waterfalls with notable characteristics; landscapes that are environmentally significant, unique, dynamic and breathtaking; famous landmarks; or unknown lovely places of serendipity. The artworks represent regions of Hokkaido, Tohoku, Kanto, Koshinetsu, Tokai, Hokuriku, Kansai, Chugoku, Shikoku, and Kyushu. We hope that readers will feel comforted through these images and live for a sustainable future. AI is not used to create any of the artworks.
