This book contains the images that make up the photo series titled natureconomy. They were captured in June of 2025 — in and around Ely, Minnesota.

Each page shows a diptych — two images in one frame — with each image in each diptych representing an aspect of either the natural or human-made world.

In addition, the book provides essential background material — text and images — about Ely, the Boundary Waters, and the tension that exists between efforts to protect the environment and those to stimulate the economy.
