Moving the painting beyond its confined space, framed on a wall, allows the viewer to interact with it in a different way. Blotting off excess paint to create white lines on his canvases, the German/ British artist Alf Löhr used large sheets of fabric to interact with his environment. The painting as such becomes an object in space, provoking people, wind, light and the landscape to interact.
