À propos du livre
Born from a Practice-as-Research Master’s at Middlesex University, this thesis traces the beginnings of a creative inquiry into the inner voice as a tool for movement, improvisation, and devising. Working with interdisciplinary artists - actors, dancers, and musicians - the research explores how inner speech, intuition, and sensation shape artistic expression. Through embodied studio sessions, participants attuned to their internal landscapes, revealing powerful links between inner awareness and outer performance.
Blending theory and practice, this work invites readers into a process of tuning in - connecting to self, material, and audience in a more authentic, embodied way. This work lays the foundation for a continuing investigation into the role of the inner voice, higher consciousness, and the creative act.

À propos du créateur
I am a freelance movement practitioner based in the South West of England, focusing on movement, choreography, and education. Within my interdisciplinary creative practice, I have created for and with dancers, actors, and other creatives, blurring the lines between disciplines while focusing on the theatricalisation of the moving body. My professional training started at Balleteatro in my hometown, Porto, Portugal, where I studied physical theatre before moving to the UK to complete a BA in Contemporary Dance at Bath Spa University. Most recently, I completed a Master’s in Professional Arts Practice (Performance) at Middlesex University, London, which allowed me to begin my early-career practice-as-research journey. Over the last decade, alongside facilitating for Bath Spa Uni as an associate lecturer for the Dance and Acting degree, and dance classes at dance schools in Bath and Bristol and community groups, I have also been working with Dust Ensemble and AllouAqui Dance Theatre.
