The 137th Infantry Regiment was part of the 35th Infantry Division during WWII and fought in 5 European campaigns - Normandy, Northern France, the Rhineland, the Ardennes, and Central Europe. This book, originally published in 1946, was written shortly after the war by men who were with the Regiment for the entire period chronicled by this history. It is an excellent in-depth description of the Regiment’s activities during the war written by men who actually experienced it. In addition to an in-depth unit history this book gives you some sense of what it must have been like for the individual soldiers who fought its battles. It is also an excellent resource for genealogists researching the military history of soldiers who served in the 137th Infantry Regiment.
