Most people whose spouse died believe that there is no greater loss. Most people who have not had this experience cannot understand why they feel this way. Even though each person’s experience is unique, there are common needs and emotions that can be shared to encourage the one who feels like there is no hope for the future.

Life is never the same after any significant loss. There is no way to replace a spouse who was taken from you, and no comfort will ever completely remove the grief. However, your soul (mind, will, and emotions) can survive. Are you willing to share your vulnerability with the ones who love you, and those who have experienced some victory over the “doomed to extinction” syndrome?

This is not a handbook to make you feel better. It is a way for me to help you move in the direction of your healing.
