"This book will be a healing gift to all who read it. I can't wait to sit on my back porch and read along with a cup of coffee." — Tommy Bond, children's poet and screenwriter

With its childlike sense for sneaking past our false walls, Whatever the Weather invites us with beautiful words and illustrations to take up residence outside of ourselves just long enough to notice who we're becoming, and what's happening in all the joy and grief-filled places that we, at some point along the way, forgot how to see.

Settling into a worn leather chair with a freshly pulled espresso, Jason starts the morning with a practice of noticing what he sees, hears, and feels as dogs demand petting, someone needs help finishing homework from the night before, and a disagreeing groan from the kitchen announces that a favorite cereal is still gone.

In between each of these moments — not instead of them — he notices birds eating seed, an aging tree whispering wisdom, and dandelions tempting bees to aid their plight to overtake his entire lawn.

It is here, in the everyday-ness of these moments, where Jason and Kristy (Illustrator) have learned to pay for joy with their attention, and then write and paint about all of it.

This little book is the result of many such mornings, colored by the changing weather, wins, disappointments, and losses that happen inside of a year.

"Whatever the Weather is reaching for all of us, beyond the boundaries of traditional prose, to find that which is meaningful and eternal, and then point our hearts in that direction." — Roger W. Thompson, author of We Stood Upon Stars

"Somewhere between the lines of Jason's poems, if you read slowly, and carefully, you'll discover he unveils a sense of revelation and depth that reveals your own soul more clearly to you. This is a book for those who dare to go where words end and life is truly experienced." — Brian Lawes, award-winning director of Lost Kings

    Jason Inman
    Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, U.S.A

Jason C. Inman is a writer and pastor living in Oklahoma with his wife, five children, a Beagle, and a Bagle Hound. He writes in front of the windows of his home, tucked back on a small city street. Home is also where he feeds birds, waters the weedy lawn mostly for the bees, invites people in for something just cooked, and wires bonsai trees as a way of becoming patient with the joy and grief of life. He can be found, with a few of his kids nearby, settled in a favorite local coffee roastery, at skate parks, thrift shops, aquarium stores, and bonsai nurseries from Oklahoma to California, to Pennsylvania, Florida, Montana, and back.
