Over the millennia, pilgrims have endeavored to integrate into their lives all God has bestowed, physically, mentally, and spiritually. So, a pilgrimage is a chance to leave behind all that encumbers and simply focus on listening to our heart and soul. On a pilgrimage one can hear the heartbeat of God in nature, in others, and in the silence that often fills our days. In life sometimes we are moving so fast, trying to take care of the ‘urgent’ that we lose sight of the important. In our daily bustling life we can forget who we actually are and whose we actually are. We forget what it means to be created in the image of a creative and loving God.
