This is a story about an elf, Afton, that lives on Buttermere Lake in the Lake District of England. Afton has always wanted to fly but has never figured how. One day, he saves a young gosling,Gandy, from a pike named Fisk. As a reward, Gandy's parents give Afton a ride on their back over the beautiful Lake District.
