Puget Sound Crossings is a compilation of photographs taken by Douglas Schoemaker over several years while commuting between Bainbridge Island’s Eagle Harbor and Seattle’s Elliott Bay across the Puget Sound that separates them.



As outdoor photography is so dependent on weather and lighting, Douglas carries his camera everywhere he goes. Commuting daily by ferry to and from Seattle from Bainbridge Island over the years has given Douglas opportunities for rare shots that are fleeting and seldom seen by the casual observer or commuter.
