À propos du livre
The foreword is written by Melanie Prapopoulos, founder of The CAMP Gallery Miami and Westport NY.
There are three series that were made between 2019 and 2022. The high sea level and with it climate change create many problems that threaten many countries and islands. People are losing their homes and places to live while other societies see their entire island slowly submerged under water. Governments and administrators hardly talk about climate change, it is a painful subject for people who already have to pay the consequences.
I have brought together three different series in my photo book “Rising Water”. The first series focuses on the Pacific Ocean, where islands such as Tuvalu, Kiribati and Fuji already have major problems with the high sea level. The second series is about Bangladesh, which is increasingly ravaged by flooding. The third series is about the Dutch Wadden. The Wadden area will disappear in the next 30 years if we don't change anything.

À propos du créateur
Alice de Kruijs is a art photographer based in The Netherlands. She frequently touches the subject of identity and diversity and aims to go against the standard ideals and showcase stories through culture and different ethnic backgrounds, her work is a celebration of these differences in culture. As her way of life, she loves to conceptually and symbolically tell stories. Born in 1981 in the east of The Netherlands she grew up in an artistic family. Nevertheless, her true artistic passion in photography started in her late twenties. After graduating from International Fashion Design and later on from Applied Photography Design with a specialisation in Fine-art portraits she dedicated her life to conceptual photography. In her early thirties she gradually moved to story telling photography. Her work have been exhibited in different galleries in Paris, Londen, Milan, Budapest and New York. Her work is featured in many (digital) magazines like Photo Vogue IT and The Guardian.
