When artist Vikki Fields paints floral still life, she approaches them as formal portraits. “Flowers have presence and personality. I find they demand the same attention and time as a person’s portrait. Flowers are also as capable of moving and wilting as humans. Working directly from life is a constantly interesting challenge."

Fields works out of her studio in San Antonio, Texas to produce fine art: still life, figurative, and portrait oil paintings. She also paints plein air in Central and West Texas, with occasional visits out of the country in search of diverse landscapes.
