Sharley the Sea Turtle was created in response to my volunteer turtle tracking experiences on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. During evening beach clean ups, I met many visitors to the island of all ages, who seemed to have the same general questions and heart felt concern and curiosities about the sea turtles, the beach and the ocean.

This haiku story is intended to be an educational tool and I sincerely hope this story helps to shine some light on the challenges the turtles face in their cycle of life and what we humans may do raise our awareness to help them and love them.

life and death matters
for their species to survive
they all need our help
