The 150th anniversary of John Wesley Powell's first expedition down the Green and Colorado Rivers was an opportunity to reflect on the changes in the Colorado River Basin. Through essays of science and art the Basin is re-examined through its complexity of reclamation, transformation, and revision of the sense of place that defines the American West. Through the lens of expedition and discovery the modern Colorado River Basin is reimagined.
