À propos du livre
For a few weeks each spring, the normally bucolic byways of the Skagit Valley become the scene of a gridlock which rivals any Seattle arterial at rush hour. The source for this annual surge is the colorful explosion of spring tulips in local fields and gardens. Look all around you and see grand beds of color laid out in an intricate tapestry of field grown tulips grown to grace tables around the country. The best place to appreciate these beauties up close is at RoozenGaarde, the display gardens for Washington Bulb, and the fields which surround it. With this group of images, mostly taken at RoozenGaarde, I have tried to assemble a collection which represents my view of Tulip Time. All have been chosen to express a personal perspective on this celebration of the Tulip’s multifaceted beauty.

I have worked in the print & publishing industry for over 40 years, providing design and photographic services for a range of projects from greeting cards to industrial catalogs. While the nature of the subjects has varied, rich, bold color has represented a constant theme. This collection of images is part of a portfolio of personal favorites, images which reflect the world I imagine.
