Jeff Higgins was born in St. Louis, MO in December of 1982 and first became interested in photography at the age of ten, and began pursuing his BFA in Photography in January 2007. Beginning with a simple hand-me-down 110 film camera, graduating to 35mm, medium format and digital photography, Jeff has always had an interest in documenting his surroundings and his interactions with those around him. He has become adept and fond of creating portraits of his friends, family, acquaintances, and even total strangers. Higgins views portraiture as a way of making his subjects feel that they are important, as well as create an image that his subject will be proud to display.

His current projects include an ongoing body of work centered around 1920s and -30s glamour portraiture, documenting local roller derby leagues, and photographic comic book narratives.
