Jose D. Fermin is the author of the scholarly book, “1904 World’s Fair: The FilipinoExperience,” published by two prestigious university presses, The University of the Philippine Press and the University of Hawaii Press. Mr. Jaime Laya, the former governor of the Philippine Central Bank, said it is “doggedly” researched. A book reviewer called it the “most authoritative” book in the genre; Lonely Planet Guide called it a “page turner.” Copies of his books are found in the Library of Congress, the world’s largest library, in the New York Public Library, and the Stanford University in California, and the University of Heidelberg in Germany.
A magna cum laude business graduate of the University of the East and a CPAt, Mr. Fermin holds an MBA degree from the University of the Philippines. He taught at the De La Salle University. He used to work in SGV Group, American Express Company in New York, and then in the HPN Group of Company where he retired as its President & CEO.
