Ian is a retired Airline Captain, now 67 years of age. In his 20s he dabbled in photography, all film of course in those days. Ian processed his own film and printed his photographs.
Ian had a long career in aviation and on his retirement, he needed a new hobby. At his wife’s suggestion he returned to photography. A very steep learning curve then faced him but being very technically minded that aspect did not trouble him, it was the artistic side that he needed to develop.
Ian joined a very active photography club that shunned competitions, instead putting more emphasis on development and training. Ian embarked on a mentoring program under the tutelage of two expert photographers, one a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society.
This book is the result of that program.
Ian lives in Northamptonshire England, and this is a personal view of the countryside within 30 miles of his home. It is a task he set himself to develop his photographic eye
