Barnett's long career includes heading the Advertising Dept at UC Press, founding a bookstore and 4 art galleries and his own Ad Agency. He co-authored Working Together: Entrepreneurial Couples with his late wife, Sharan. His many honors include 3 Monochrome Awards, and the 2017 Independent Publishers Silver Medal Award for Photography in My Bones – Half a Century of Images by Frank Barnett. His 2015 exhibit of photography at the Oregon Jewish Museum and Center for Holocaust Education was accompanied by his book, FotoMacher – Examining Lives with Jewish Eyes. From their gallery at the Willamette Heritage Center, Frank his wife Martha Solomon serve museums and corporations with award-winning photography, publications, and curated installations. Their next exhibit, opening Sept, 2019, at the Oregon Historical Society Museum, is based on their book, All American Toy Co. – All American Toys for All American Boys. Nearly 80, Barnett is still active as a writer and fine art photographer.
