Artist’s Biography,

Currently living and working in Dundas, Ontario, I am a graduate of the Atelier de dessin et d’arts décoratifs, Paris, France; the Ontario College of Art and the University of Toronto, Toronto.

Throughout the past thirty years my practice has examined female identity within patriarchy. Additionally, the impact of the multiple immigrant uprootings and relocations to which I was subjected during the first half of my life has led me to examine the formation of memory, identity and the immigrant experience of loss and displacement.

Since 1979, I have exhibited in approximately 50 solo and 100 group showings,
and have received grants from the Canada Council and Ontario Arts Council. My work is included in the permanent collections of 20 Canadian public galleries and documented in several catalogues and the video Stories of Life displayed on my website.
