Mare Dunham--born seventy some years ago, wrote her first story when she was five years old. Her sister told her it was maudlin, and silly. She wishes now that she had listened to her big sister because her stories still tend to be overly emotional and maudlin. She wants to change that--perhaps write something grand and inspiring for her grandchildren, but first she will have to fire Edna and it pains her to even consider it. She and Edna St Vincent Millay have been together for years now, and no matter what Mare attempts to write, Edna the Muse, waits until she leaves to fetch a cup of tea. Then she invades what once were very sensible sentences, and squishes in heart wrenching adjectives, and raging adverbs. Darn her
