The author writes under the pen name "LaTonya Tarell," composed of her first and middle names. “I recall being referred to as such by my mother when I challenged traditional points of view as a young girl...or, when I was in serious trouble!” the author reflects in amusement. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a concentration in journalism, and a minor in political science from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in May of 1988. From there to here, she has held marketing and public affairs/relations positions in which she has been able to utilize her best skill—expression.
