Christian R. Ortuno is a Fine Art Photographer who works and lives in Fresno, California. He uses the camera to document the complexity of humanity. Ortuno captures the spectrum of human emotions, from the simple moments to the trying times. Through the lens, Ortuno is able to recognize a moment revealing humanity in its ordinary, but also intricate, state through the various lives of his family, friends, and even himself. As Ortuno states, “Every day I see humanity at its finest. Whether I’m with my family, friends or even by myself, I see how fragile and complex our lives are. We are born, live, learn, and die as we experience life, emotions and thoughts...we create moments of happiness, laughter, and joy out of pure simplicity. Every time I see that and capture it, I witness how beautiful humanity really is; and that to me, is art.”

Ortuno graduated from California State University of Fresno with a BA in Art in 2017. His work has been showcased in various exhibitions in Fresno.
