À propos du livre
I attend art fairs to look at the art, but also to figure out interesting ways to relate to the experience as an artist. Various projects have come out of this. One was called FRAMES, a series that used photographs of the various frames seen at several art fairs. These were arranged into a series of infinite abysses (a la the infinite double reflection one sees when two mirrors are placed face to face—what the French call an Abime.)
This led to ABIMES, a project where a photo of a common familiar object is the raw material used to create each infinite abyss.
This project is another such series, only this time it uses imaginary butterflies created from fragments of orchid photographs taken at the New York Botanical Gardens Orchid Show in 2013.
