À propos du livre
The Nene Valley Railway. This is where it all started for me. One of the first memories I have of steam is the wind blowing through my hair as I hung my head out of the carriage window.
This was on a train that had the 'Flying Scotsman' at the front during its 1994 visit to the line, though I was too young to realise this, and wound my Dad up constantly asking if we could go and see it again for years afterwords.
On the 1st of June 1977, the first train hauled by French 'Nord' and Swedish No 1178 left Wansford heading for Orton Mere. Whilst this marked the end of one challenge, it was but the beginning of the story for the modern Nene Valley Railway!
