À propos du livre
Los Angeles, April 2008
"Things that hold no value for the majority are priceless for others."
On a recent trip to Los Angeles I wrote a love letter to my friends within the community of Armenians. It was about the immediate bond of friendship, support and tradition I felt while I was amongst them. During this last extended visit in Los Angeles, this vast city became my home away from home - and my ever-growing circle of friends has become my new family. I want to celebrate them - these pictures are my new letter.
I would like to thank my family for their support: my cousin Garo Mardirossian for giving me hospitality in a huge mansion; my cousin Maral Kazazian for introducing me to the AFFMA crew; my friend Sonya Varoujian whose support I will never forget. Hovnan Derderian, for calling me every week and asking me how I felt in this new, big metropolis; my friend Maro Khodaveerdi for sharing with me moments of "Italianess".
This body of work was possible because of the support of three strong women:
Taleen Tertzakian
Tamar Sinanian
Sara Anjargolian
And to all those who were a part of this project, GRAZIE.
