Not far from where I lived in Stow, Massachusetts, just outside of town, I came across a very typical New England white cedar swamp, and was immediately drawn to it's unique beauty.



Barely noticeable from the road, and not easily accessible, one has work hard to actually wade through it, however once inside it feels like you are on a completely different planet. In the swamp you lose the sense of seasons and the surreal landscape tricks your eyes into appearing infinite, dark, deep and dead. Far from being dead, as you tread carefully through the tea-coloured water, you start to notice all the life in these unique ecosystem.



With my camera I tried to capture that life and those emotions and colours, enhancing some of these photos to bring out the surreal beauty of this incredible place.
