Among the jurors selecting Michael’s photographs for exhibitions, publication, and awards were the curators of photography for the Philadelphia Art Museum, the New Mexico Museum of Art, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and a consulting curator in the photography department at the National Gallery of Art, Washington. His photographs have been selected for group exhibitions around the country and have been selected for recognition in national and international competitions including the International Photography Awards, the Px3 Prix de la Photographie Paris, the Worldwide Photography Gala, the Pollux Awards, and the Black and White Spider Awards. Portfolios of his work were selected for publication in COLOR Magazine, and in the Center of Fine Art Photography’s Portfolio Showcase Volume IV and Portfolio Showcase Volume V.
