The founding of New York was based on the Dutch settlement of Nieuw Amsterdam in the Seventeeth Century.



Unfortunately, all houses and monuments of Nieuw Amsterdam vanished. The street pattern of Lower Manhattan seems to be the only original footprint of Nieuw Amsterdam left in New York today. My intention with this book is to bring this footprint into picture.
