À propos du livre
My obsession with photography began when I found a picture of my father inside of a red velvet box at my grandmother’s house. The picture was cut in half. I understood immediately that on the other side, now destroyed, was my mother. She had died when I was still too young to have any memories of her and at home we were never to speak of her. Never. A shameful secret, a ghost. My personal work is a search to give a face, a body, a name and a story to the person erased and forgotten on the other half of this photo. I do this through the women I meet, photographed in their intimacy – a gesture, a gaze, a detail – finding her and making her immortal, filling this emptiness.
