American writer Jake McBroom was born on May 22, 1985, in Zumbrota, Minnesota. He was the second of three children. He attended area schools and married his high school sweetheart Laura Liffrig from Mazeppa, Minnesota.

Jake is an audio visual technician by trade, writes music, poetry, and apparently, some times, books.
