À propos

Welcome to Foxglove Lane Studio, named for the wild foxgloves that grow along our lane during the summer months. I'm Catherine Drea, a photographer, award winning blogger and facilitator, living and working in rural Waterford, Ireland.

My Dad give me a tiny Instamatic camera as a present for my 10th birthday. Art and photography have always been a big part of my creative life. The Foxglove Lane blog began during 2011, the year my Dad died. I had absolutely no plan but I think the whole process helped me to grieve. Everything that has resulted has been organic and at times somewhat meandering. Blogging has become a wonderful space to share my own approach to photography and to write about nature and the healing power of finding beauty in the ordinary.

Domaines de compétence

Initially I worked as a Graphic Designer, an Art Teacher and a Community Artist, and after 10 years teaching in the Waterford Institute founded Framework-building ethical leadership and organisations in Ireland. As a feminist and campaigner for equality, I saw Framework as a further support to a changing Ireland. While developing Framework as an organisation I qualified as an Integrative Psychotherapist and completed a Masters in Social Entrepreneurialism from University College Cork.
