The Students of Klein Oak High School

À propos

This book is a collection of works created during the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 academic years by students at Klein Oak High School in Spring, Texas who wanted to raise money in support of an orphanage home in Entebbe, Uganda known as Malayaka House. They came to know the children of Malayaka House by reading their stories, sending messages back and forth, and communicating via Skype. This project perfectly intertwines the voices of young people from two different cultures, as they explore and share their feelings with one another through visual art and the written word. By selling their original artwork, the students were initially able to raise $6,000. All proceeds from the book sales go directly to Malayaka House. For every copy sold, an additional $15 will be donated to Malayaka House. Thank you.
