I was born and raised in New Orleans, LA. Even though I’ve lived in Austin for many years I still haven’t lost my “Noo Awlins” accent! I still feel like a stranger in a strange land. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from with a Bachelor of Arts in Photo-Communications in 1984. While at SEU I received a number of honors, including being recognized in Who’s Who in American Universities, named Outstanding Photography Student for 1984 and editor of the yearbook. In 1987, I went to graduate school at and graduated in 1991 with a Master of Fine Arts degree in Photography. I am a past president of Texas Photographic Society, a past vice-president of Lone Star Photographic Workshops and a past director of PhotoWork Gallery in Austin. I served as Director of Photography for the Texas House of Representatives from 1996 to 2003. From 2001-2006, I returned to my alma mater, St. Edward’s University, to teach digital photography.
