À propos du livre
Japan is an unreal place: The minute I lefft it I immediately started to doubt, that I've ever been there. A week or so later at home, I wonder if Japan is a real place or if it is just an imagination.
In 2014 we went to Japan: We visited Tokyo, spent a beautifully quiet week on Hokkaido, went on to Osaka, Kyoto, Nara. The photos in this book are the result of a frantic search to understand this country that is at same time very familiar and very strange. I brought with me roughly 5000 images and spent the following weeks editing and selecting, trying to make sense of what I saw: from the shadowy temples of Nara to the neon-lit streets of Tokyo - this is a strangers view on a strange land.
