À propos du livre
46 colour photo monograph by New Zealand photographer, Hans Weston. His camera captures the light, life and colour of the street - for the most part in his home town of Wellington. Weston observes the details of our urban environment that all too often go unnoticed, in our busy, distracted lives. His work is inspired by greats such as Saul Leiter, Ernst Haas, William Eggleston, Elliott Erwitt and Henri Cartier-Bresson.
The exhibition accompanying the book was first shown at Photospace Gallery, Wellington, New Zealand, in July 2015.
Excerpt from the introduction:
"Hans Weston’s photography is an exercise in mindfulness; he is very much in the world that he photographs (even though he would often perhaps rather not be noticed). Put simply, it’s about walking around noticing stuff, and photographing it well. When in his stride, Weston is altogether in the moment."
JAMES GILBERD, Photospace Gallery
