À propos du livre
"Sprinkles!" is what a chef I worked with used to say when passing food through the 'window.' Like a lot of self-proclaimed artists here in the states, I've put in my time working within the food service industry. "Sprinkles" referred to the small garnish the chef would put on a dish before it left the kitchen, bound for a table for a guest to potentially enjoy. Sesame seeds on Ahi, micro-diced chives on a Filet Mignon etc. It was the final touch in an attempt to make the dish look pretty. The thing I liked most about this phrase was the utter sarcastic manner in which he would deliver it! Like a lot of chefs I know, he really didn't care all that much if the customer thought it was pretty or not, but he'd still call me back if I grabbed a dish too hastily, I'd turn back around and see him grinning holding a pinch of chives. "Sprinkles!"
I guess in visual art I'm trying to add sprinkles of my own, with every layer I add I'm striving to create something that others could call pretty/beautiful/artistic. In a less sarcastic manner I should add.
