À propos du livre
What began as a simple idea, blossomed into this book. Through the architecture, art, music, and diversity I cling to, this collection shows my love for South Asian culture and the District of Columbia. I have layered different time periods and regions, juxtaposing tradition with modern, and history with current. Through the models, I aimed to find individuals of South Asian descent that parallel the culture of the District of Columbia. The majority of the models are indeed local residents, but many represent the District's transient community and are now living throughout the United States and the world. Some represent the many tourists who visit the nation's capital frequently, and have fallen in love with the District, its history, and ever evolving culture.
