À propos du livre
This is an illustrated chapter book suitable for readers aged 8-12. The illustrations are all in black and white apart from one, which is also the front cover. The book is a sequel to Jake and The Smugglers. After his adventures with the smuggling cats in the first book, Jake finds a message in a bottle which tells him about two keys which will open doors which lead to hidden treasure (the lost crown jewels of King John). Jake goes out by himself despite a warning of acid rain, to see if he can find this treasure, hidden in a well, which is approached via tunnels underneath Roedean school and on the way bumps into Dr Hooker (a vicar and leading smuggler), who controls the smuggling cats of the village. Dr Hooker is also after the treasure. With the help of his old friend Badger, Jake gets into the tunnels underneath Roedean, via the artist Edward Burne Jones's house. Here he meets Lara, a goth, who is hiding in the tunnels away from school bullies. Bunbun, Jake's aunt's cat, meets them in the tunnels and they work together as a team to outwit the evil Dr Hooker and his cats.

I'm a self taught writer and illustrator. My day job is teaching- currently in secondary education as a supply. These books about Jake are inspired by my nephew and were for him. They were also inspired by my love of the undercliff path, the downs, Rottingdean and its smuggling history and last but not least, my black and white cat, Bunbun.
