À propos du livre
Since 2003, SlowExposures has presented an annual exhibition of fine art photography to showcase work that emphasizes the rich diversity, contradictions and complexity of the rural South. This book includes all 93 photographs in the SlowExposures 2009 exhibit. They were created by 57 photographers and juried into the show by juror Tim Barnwell. They were selected from more than 640 photographs submitted for the show.
We hope viewers of this book will slow down, look, and let the images surprise, educate, reacquaint, and challenge their perceptions of the rural South as it was and more importantly as it exists today. We believe that the astonishing impact of these images will help preserve that intangible “sense of place” we all recognize in the places we call home.
