À propos du livre
At age 22 in 1905, Erna Lorenz changed her life by emigrating from Bromberg, Germany, alone on board the Hamburg-America Line ship Patricia, bound for New York. She took with her an album of postcards from family and friends she’d been saving since 1901, an album she kept updating through early 1911, as cards arrived from cities in Germany, Europe and America. In those ten years the cards Erna saved -- over 500 in number -- showed what life was like during the early 20th century in Europe and the US. The postcard album, recreated here, has become a family treasure.
