À propos du livre
"When I photograph people in their environment, they are often alone as I observe them: the woman waiting in the warmth of an early summer morning for a boat, a nun pulling her suitcase down a deserted street, a performer frozen in costume, a child lingering outside the classroom door. It's a peek into a life, a community, a culture."
And so begins a photographic journey through diverse locales around the globe as Christina Dikas finds beauty in candid moments and beautiful landscapes. The vividly colored photographs are paired with clear and present prose that transport the reader and weave stories of solitude-- sometimes quiet and contemplative, sometimes curious and funny, and sometimes glorious.
