À propos du livre
When people think of Paris, they usually picture fine architecture, elegant fashion, and delicious food, but they seldom think of the green side of Paris. The city is filled with beautiful parks and gardens.
Paris has more than 7,400 acres of public green space. Parisian parks and gardens, numbering at least 420, are the lungs of the city, a source of environmental renewal.
This book contains Ava Collat’s original photographs of the parks of Paris and features close-ups of nature. She photographed the great variety of beauty in these parks – from the elegance of the Parc Monceau to the wild look of the Bois de Boulogne to the more unusual styles of the Coulée Verte René-Dumont, an elevated walkway built over an old railroad, and Le Mur Végétal, the vertical garden created by Patrick Blanc.
The author has combined many of her photographs with brief notable quotations to encourage people to experience nature in this city’s wonderful parks.
