À propos du livre
On the side of Mount Coady in the Northeast Margaree, overlooking Cape Breton’s beautiful Margaree Valley, there stands an old farmhouse, weathered and out of use. The land has borne the Tompkins name through five generations, and has been the birthplace of three prominent priests of the Diocese of Antigonish.
Much has been written about Father Jimmy Tompkins and Rev. Dr. Moses Coady, but until now, less has been recounted about the short but remarkable life of Father Miles Tompkins.
Donald Bird, married to Joan Tompkins (niece of Father Miles), has compiled many records of the life and times of the Catholic priest, chaplain & decorated hero of the Great War, agricultural manager and beloved community leader. He’s used this source material to write a short essay outlining the deeds of Father Miles Nicolas Tompkins.
