Dionis Figueroa (1956), is an established mid-career Visual Artist; an Independent Curator and a Self-Published Author, who was born in Santo Domingo and raised in New York, where he immigrated at age 14 and developed his creative career. The artist studied Fine Arts with a major in painting at The School of Visual Arts (1974), where he received specialized guidance from the late American Abstract Master & painter Michael Lowe; who had been an alumnus of Fernand Leger and Hans Hofmann.
His paintings are in distinguished private art collections, in corporate collections, in cultural foundations, and museum’s collections in the US, Germany, Spain, Japan, Venezuela, Portugal, France, Italy, England, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.
Also, the artist is a Graphic Design/Content Editor, who was a recipient of the ‘2002 SND “10 Best Design Awards”; Redesign Category’. in 1974, he received the “Larry Kagan Memorial Award” presented by the Knights of Phytias Channel Lodge in New York.
