À propos du livre
My Art is my playground. Being a photographer, I have two places to play with my Art. The first one is when I shoot a photo and the second one, is when I post-process my photo. In many ways I find the post-processing a much more creative process, than the actual shooting of my photos.
The digital world offers so many opportunities when you work with photos, and I keep exploring new territories of digital photo manipulation. I find new techniques, new combinations and new technologies, and they become a part of my chest of digital toys.
I play with textures, colors and light and seek to create the most rich, beautiful, and interesting photos possible.
To have maximum flexibility and information to work with, I shoot several photos of the exact same scene. I have my camera on a tripod to make sure it is exactly the same scene I shoot. Because I shoot different exposures, some very dark and some very bright, I capture all of the details from the strongest light sources to the darkest shadows.
This way I get a lot of digital image information, I can bend to my will and creativity in the digital post-processing. I can enhance details, change light sources, and work with the colors, and I can even mix entirely different photos together. Sometimes I have up to nine photos of the exact same scene and in many ways I am like a digital painter, when I mix, bend and manipulate the photos into a piece of art.
In this book, you find examples of my artwork. What you see is not reality, but my interpretation of reality. Some you will find so far from photography that they look more like paintings.
