À propos du livre
"Beetropolis: Comb Encounters of the Third Nature" documents Alison Nash's Master of Architecture design thesis at Cornell University, January 2014. The project weaves together existing human and domesticated nature with the wild and feral by envisioning sites of natural intrastructure that reveal the interconnection and network pattern of natural systems. Acting as “cultural centers” the dispersed bee gardens and site-specific apiaries of Beetropolis serve as places to learn the language and behavior of the bee and enable the cultivation of a dialog that is engaged with the senses, reveals natural cycles, and encourages wonder and delight.
