À propos du livre
This is photographic study of the natural world in the small coastal village of Emerald Beach in Northern NSW, Australia. It is just a small illustration of the wonderful array of life and diversity that is around all of us if we take the time to look. It's easy to fall into the "Greener Pastures" syndrome and only expect to see something new and exciting in exotic places or imagine it's all better somewhere else. It amazes me when someone sees an image and is surprised to find it's something living alongside them. Of course it's also gratifying to have someone point out the beauty of simple object or common creature that we normally just take for granted. Children often have an uncanny knack of making us see things fresh again. This photo book looks at the often tiny and secretive "harder" bodied creatures that watch us soft bodied animals trying to control the environment around us. Yes those "beautiful" spiders, insects, sea animals and reptiles (Australia has nearly 840 described species of the 8,950 species of reptiles in the world, more than any other country, the United Kingdom has six native reptile species) that live all around us.
