À propos du livre
In January 2012 my friend Sonali and I took a trip through Rajasthan, Varanasi, and Agra, India. We visited beautiful cities with palaces and forts where the maharajas had fought. We searched (unsuccessfully) for tigers at Ranthambore National Park. We watched pilgrims bathe in the holy waters of the Ganges in Varanasi. And of course there was a final stop to see the amazing Taj Mahal in Agra. All along the way, the colors of India stunned me; never had I experienced a place so filled with vibrant color. And the contrasts jarred me- current poverty and historic wealth, crowded cities and beautiful countryside, deterioration and decay alongside tremendous spirituality. This book is a selection of my favorite photos from the trip, arranged into groups not by place but by theme: Color, Ancient, Urban, Rural, Pattern, Texture, Activity, Reflection, Structure, Decay, and Spirituality.
